Building a Better Resume
Your resume is your first impression. It is probably one of dozens all competing for attention. Resumes are often scanned very quickly. Here's how you can make yours stand out.
Make it easy to read. Use bullet points instead of paragraphs. Even if it makes your resume longer, we'd prefer to easy-to-read pages rather than one overstuffed page.
Tailor your resume for the job. It's a good practice to highlight skills and accomplishments that demonstrate your value to the company's specific needs.
Don't add a picture. Your skills are what matter.
Don't forget to proofread. Typos and grammatical errors make it easy to eliminate you from consideration.
Don't include, “Objectives or references available on request.” These take up valuable real estate and make you look out of touch.
